Boogie Down on Broad Street Concert Series Begins

In its continued efforts to enhance the Downtown Business District and Dunn’s Quality of Life, the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce has coordinated a Concert Series , “Boogie Down on Broad Street” presented by Holloman Exterminators, for the Spring and Fall of 2007 with the first event set for April.
The first Boogie Down on Broad Street was held in September of 2006 and was a huge success. “We had a large crowd and everyone said they had a great time,” according to Chairman John Snipes. “The first event attracted people not just from Dunn but the surrounding communities.” The Chamber is hoping to build on the enthusiasm from last year and begin a new tradition for the Dunn community.
The first event is set for Thursday, April 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and features a free concert by beach music favorites, The Catalinas. It will be held at the First Citizens Bank Parking Lot at the corner of Wilson and Broad Street in Downtown Dunn.
The event includes concessions and children’s activities in addition to the concert. There are also three restaurants located within walking distance of the concert.
In addition to Holloman Exterminators, these concerts are being funded through the sponsorship of several chamber members. “We are excited about this family event and hope everyone will come out to join us for the great music, fun and fellowship”, says Mr. Snipes.
Future concerts are set for May 24 with CC Rider, September 13 with Super Glide and October 11 with the Band of Oz.
This event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. For additional information, call the Dunn Chamber office at (910)892-4113.
