Chamber to Host Candidates Forum for City Election
Avery Corning, Vice President of Public & Governmental Affairs for the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that the Chamber will host a Candidate’s Forum for the City of Dunn election.
The forum will be held on Monday, September 17 in council chambers at Dunn City Hall. It is scheduled to begin promptly at 7 p.m.
All the candidates for Mayor and City Council have been invited to participate in the forum. Due to the large number of candidates, both Joey Tart and Billy Tart have decided to allow more time for other candidates by not participating. Both candidates are running unopposed.
Cecil B. (Bo) Jones, a local attorney and past president of the Dunn Chamber, will serve as the moderator for the forum. The forum will be broadcast, on a tape-delay, over the governmental channel of the Dunn cable system.
Each candidate will be given two minutes to make his opening statement. A question and answer session will follow. Following the question and answer session, each candidate will be given two minutes for closing remarks.
All Chamber members and the public are invited to attend the forum and get to know these candidates and their position on issues important to you.
The Dunn Chamber is currently collecting questions of interest and importance to the community. Questions to be considered for inclusion in the forum must be submitted to the Dunn Chamber office in writing by fax at 910-892-4071, by mail at PO Box 548 or by email at tammy@dunnchamber.com by August 31. Questions will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee that will decide the questions to be asked at the forum.
For more information, call the Dunn Chamber at 910-892-4113.
