Membership Drive a Success!
The Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual membership drive March 4 – April 2. “This drive was the most successful since Tammy has been here at the Chamber”, according to Vice President of Membership Development Dana Cochran. “With the success of our last membership drives, we really didn’t know if this one could continue that tradition, but these outstanding volunteers surpassed all our expectations. We have officially titled them the ‘dream team’ for DACC.”
This year’s theme was “Wanted, DACC New Members Round UP!” and the team kicked off the successful drive with a fun training session including a western theme. At the membership drive kick-off, committee members dressed in their western attire and threw horse shoes to begin the competition. Volunteers were served ice cream sandwiches and pretzels during the training session.
Committee members divided into two teams, which were led by Ashlyn Thompson and Sylvia Jackson of WPYB Radio. Mrs. Jackson’s team beat the competition and Mrs. Thompson’s team had to serve the winning team at the awards luncheon held at the Pots and Patches Tea Room on Thursday.
Top sales people for the drive were this year’s team captains, Sylvia Jackson and Ashlyn Thompson. Second Place prize went to Annette Barfield from Mrs. Jackson’s team.
The committee collectively signed up 17 new members, bringing the total membership of the chamber to more than 470. The more members the chamber has, the stronger the chamber’s voice for our businesses.
